Planning Commission clears Cruzin Auto Spa to add beer and wine at Robinson Street location

The Norman Planning Commission approved a rezoning and a special use permit enabling Cruzin Auto Spa to operate a second store at 3250 West Robinson Street and to offer beer and wine for customers in the waiting area.

Kelly Abel of the Planning Department described the request as a rezoning from C-1 (Local Commercial) to C-2 (General Commercial) with a special use for a bar, lounge or tavern to allow beer and wine sales inside the 6,200-square-foot building. The structure is currently vacant; the applicant said the site will be refurbished for an auto‑detailing and customer waiting area with an on-site beer and wine bar.

Luke Greenfield, director of operations at Cruzin Auto Spa, told the commission the company seeks an ABLE license from the state to serve beer and wine only (no distilled liquor) to customers waiting for services; he said the business hopes to open by February. “No. There’s no liquor. It is beer and wine only we are applying for,” Greenfield said in response to a commissioner question.
