Board approves sidewalk and paving change orders, and on-call engineering for Northside waterline

The Goshen Board of Public Works and Safety approved several engineering items affecting street paving, sidewalks and waterline construction.
For asphalt paving package B (Plymouth Avenue and related work), the board approved change order No. 1 to add sidewalk replacements through driveways and alleys to meet ADA cross-slope requirements. The change order adds $66,800, increasing the contract roughly 1.4% to $4,633,727.
The board also approved change order No. 3 to asphalt paving package A to add additional asphalt milling on Keystone Drive and Eisenhower Drive and to rebuild a traffic signal loop at Weymouth tied to Kercher Road work. That change order adds $30,122 and brings the contract to $2,269,706.70.
Separately, the board approved a professional services on-call agreement with Arcadis for construction-phase engineering assistance on the Northside waterline replacement project, with a not-to-exceed allowance of $50,000. Staff said retaining the original design firm allows for faster response to unforeseen field conditions during construction.
Each motion carried unanimously.
