The quotes included proposals from Midwestern Electric, Austin Electric and EMCORE Higher Electric. City staff said the grant covers two new chargers, a replacement at City Hall and rapid chargers at the Sportsplex; the city needs installation quotes to complete the project.
The board heard staff summarize the three bids and then approved a motion to refer the matter to the engineering consultants for review, recommendation and tabulation.
The referral does not pick a vendor; the engineering consultants will evaluate the quotes and return a recommendation at a later meeting. No dollar amounts were approved by the board at this meeting.
City staff said the grant-funded devices have already been purchased and that the current step is selecting an installer and finalizing permits and schedules. The board's action was limited to referring the bids for technical review.
