Far West City Council voted unanimously Sept. 3 to approve a development agreement and a modified site plan for Peterson Inc., a mixed‑use parcel on the city’s industrial corridor. The agreement divides a parcel into a roughly 7‑acre park parcel and a 21‑acre development parcel, requires that certain temporary structures be removed before occupancy, and ties landscaping compliance to future building permits.
Representatives for the project — including Jim Flint (applicant) and Jeff Lowe (High Country Global Solutions) — described the proposal as a lot‑line adjustment, with a condition that the “ride building” (an existing temporary structure) be removed before the new building is occupied; Mr. Lowe said his company will begin demolition of that temporary structure on Sept. 30. Planning commission review and a public hearing preceded the council action; the planning commission had recommended approval with conditions.
Council members voiced concern about past, informal changes on the site and emphasized the need to document and enforce agreements so the city can hold large owners to the same standards as smaller applicants. The development agreement and the modified site plan were both approved by roll‑call votes with all councilors voting aye.
Separately, council approved an ordinance amending accessory building height rules for lots under one acre (Ordinance 2025‑08), changing peak and sidewall height allowances to accommodate modern accessory structures such as RV garages. Council also approved routine consent items including minutes and bills.
