The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners approved a Local Public Agency (LPA) preliminary engineering agreement for Bridge 126, located on County Road 6 over Christiana Creek, during its Sept. 15 meeting.
Highway staff described Bridge 126 as east of County Road 7 near the Elkhart Airport and said the project is an 80/20 federally funded project with a total cost of $772,698.40. The county will sign the document electronically, using a docu-sign process, county staff said.
A motion to approve the LPA preliminary engineering agreement passed by voice vote. Highway staff indicated they will send the signature request to the commissioner designated to sign.
The county will proceed with the federally funded preliminary engineering phase under the LPA agreement and track required match and grant documentation.
