New interior‑design shop introduced; town clerk honored for 20 years

The council heard two presentations at its Sept. 2 meeting: the owner‑operator of a new local business introduced the shop and the council recognized a long‑tenured employee.
Ashley Tucker introduced Ash & Co Interiors, a new brick‑and‑mortar interior‑design firm located across from Ace Hardware on Waxhaw‑Indian Trail Road. Tucker said she and her husband relocated to the Indian Trail area and opened the store last month; she described the business as community‑focused and said it works with homeowners and contractors to select finishes, furniture and other interior elements. "This business is an extension of our home," Tucker said, inviting residents to visit the new shop.
The council also recognized Trina Sims, who joined the Town of Indian Trail on Aug. 29, 2005. The mayor read a statement noting Sims’ service over 20 years in positions including administrative assistant, executive assistant to the town manager, deputy town clerk, bonds program administrator for engineering and, currently, town clerk. The council presented a service recognition and thanked Sims for two decades of municipal service.
