District project manager reports site, classroom and utility work; Brightspeed fiber and meter-vault timelines delay parts of middle-school paving

Work described as substantially complete or nearly complete includes grading and base paving at the middle-school loop road (base coat paving expected to start the day after the meeting), high-school back parking lot base coat with the wearing course scheduled later in the week, STEM-lab exterior grading and entrance aluminum frames, and casework and flooring installations in the consumer-science and family-consumer labs. The high-school secured vestibule was reported as behind schedule, but an alternate entrance will be available for the first day of classes and contractors are working extended hours and weekends to ready classrooms.
On the middle-school parent loop paving, the presenter said Brightspeed (fiber/utility) will need to relocate poles and service lines for the driveway paving to proceed as drawn. The district reported a Brightspeed proposal of about $7,000 to rerun lines and set new utility posts; if Brightspeed does not relocate service before the district's paver leaves, staff said a temporary stone path could be packed for the first 30–40 feet to allow bus access and open the loop for day one.
A water-meter vault (meter vault) package remains in production and will be scheduled for changeover at a weekend or holiday once delivered. The presenter said the middle-school paving change-order negotiation reduced an initial estimate near $32,000 to approximately $26,000 and that after the evening's recommended approvals the construction contingency would be approximately $172,000.
The stadium and track punch list was discussed at length separately; the facilities update described ongoing punch-list work, time-clock installation and landscaping cleanup to improve site presentation, but noted outstanding items that would be addressed after contractors complete classroom spaces.
