District installs Libo ID, refreshes devices and integrates special‑education records

Mount Lebanon’s technology department told the board Aug. 11 that it completed several summer projects designed to reduce sign‑in friction for teachers and families, refresh classroom devices and improve access to special‑education documents.
The most visible change is Libo ID, a district single‑sign‑on platform that will provision accounts automatically from HR and PowerSchool sources, provide a parent/guardian launchpad for district apps, and push approved applications to students. “Libo ID does three things. Libo ID creates all of our new accounts… app rostering… and the most exciting thing is that parents… get their own Launchpad,” the technology presenter said.
Why it matters: Centralized authentication and app rostering simplify access to instructional apps, reduce manual account creation, and aim to cut sign‑in time for teachers, students and families.
Key information - Device refresh and upgrades: All PCs were migrated to Windows 11; classroom projectors were cleaned, refurbished or replaced; Chromebooks returned by seniors and fifth graders were refurbished; iPads refreshed for K–1. - Device lending and protections: Sixth‑grade borrowed devices will be distributed at orientations; district parents are encouraged to enroll in the Equipment Protection Plan (EPP), which covers accidental damage for a fee (forms posted online). Presenters said EPP excludes intentional damage and loss. - Libo ID timeline and apps: Staff and board Google accounts will be switched to Libo ID authentication starting Aug. 14; students will sign in Aug. 18 so they can access apps on the first day. Schoology, Naviance and Atlas are among the apps slated for connection. - Special‑education records access: The technology team completed an integration between IUPr Writer (document system for IEPs, 504s, evaluations) and PowerSchool so authorized teachers will see icons and quick access to those documents in their classroom view.
