Bannock County commissioners on Aug. 21 approved the consent agenda and authorized staff to proceed with payment on an approved tractor purchase that will be paid from the county contingency account.
County staff said a tractor invoice required signatures because the prior motion to buy the tractor used contingency funds and contingency expenditures require signatures of commissioners present. Staff noted they had accidentally coded the invoice to PILT and needed signatures so the payment could be processed from contingency rather than the PILT account.
Commissioners also discussed one invoice for an on‑call nurse paid in advance and noted a prior conversation about nepotism in procurement; staff said the issue had been addressed so the county would avoid purchases from family without proper process going forward.
A motion to approve the consent agenda passed by voice vote; staff collected the commissioners’ signatures on the tractor invoice so the payment could be processed.
