Ogden School Board reviews audit timeline, James Madison center plans and policy updates at work session

The Ogden City School District Board of Education at an August work session heard committee reports that outlined an audit procurement timeline, flagged budget pressures affecting graduation rates, and previewed a proposal to rebrand and fund a community education hub at the James Madison building.

The audit committee report, delivered by Vice President Anderson, recommended a contract structure of three years with two separate one‑year extension options for external audit services and noted that a request for proposals (RFP) for audit services must be conducted every five years. "We are separate from management. We want to ensure that we have objective oversight and an unbiased approach to the audit process," Vice President Anderson said, and the committee discussed creating a formal audit timeline and cadence that will align with regular budget, finance and facilities committee meetings.
