Planning commission approves Garden Street bakery-restaurant after adding requirement for off-site parking agreement

The Boise City Planning and Zoning Commission on Sept. 1 approved a conditional use permit (CUP 25-10) and variances (CVA 25-11) allowing a restaurant and bakery at 802 North Garden Street, conditioned on the applicant entering a cross-parking agreement to secure five additional parking stalls off site.

Staff told the commission the applicant seeks to remodel and expand an existing 1920 building by roughly 800 square feet into a restaurant/bakery. Under Boise development code the proposed 2,044-square-foot finished building triggers a 10-space parking requirement for a restaurant; the applicant proposed four on-site spaces, including one ADA, one compact and two standard stalls.
