The Lewiston City Council on Aug. 11 voted to rezone a 7.24-acre parcel at 805 Stuart Avenue, approving ZNC 25-1 to change the property from community commercial (C-3) and agricultural transitional (F-2) to general commercial (C-4).
The council dispensed with the requirement that an ordinance be read on three separate days, combined the second and third readings, waived the full third reading and approved Ordinance No. 49-49 by title. The clerk read the ordinance title and the motion carried by voice vote. The council also approved the related statement of relevant criteria and standards for ZNC 25-1.
Why it matters: The rezoning updates the official zoning map and changes allowable land uses on the identified parcel. Staff and the applicant presented the matter as an implementation of the planning commission decision referenced in the ordinance.
Procedural notes
Councilor Forsman moved to approve the reasoned statement for ZNC 25-1 and councilors voted to adopt Ordinance 49-49 following the combined readings. The ordinance was adopted and the city clerk recorded the ordinance summary as required.
Ending
The zoning map amendment takes effect as provided in the ordinance; staff will update official planning maps to reflect the C-4 designation for the parcel at 805 Stuart Ave.
