Parks committee approves $10,000 for livestock-handling upgrades at Raptor 3 C Complex

The Churchill County Parks and Recreation Committee approved a $10,000 allocation from the residential construction tax fund to buy equipment intended to speed livestock handling at the Raptor 3 C Complex during its meeting called to order at 6 p.m.

Committee members approved the funding after a brief presentation from Jorge, a parks staff member, who described the purchase as a set of panels, lead-ups and other amenities to move animals from stock trucks into pens and on to event facilities. "So what we're looking at doing is making some enhancements, some improvements to the arenas, mostly in delivering livestock, you know, for events and then housing them as well. And so we're looking for $10,000 to purchase those pieces of equipment and, improvements," Jorge said.
