Board appoints three new members to Lake County tourism panel

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners voted Aug. 11, 2025, to appoint Lauren Barrett, Angela Chandler Peterson and Nelen Twist to the Lake County tourism panel.
Adam Ducharme, who presented the panel’s recommendations, said the panel had received five letters of interest and used a ranking matrix to identify gaps in representation; the board seat selections prioritized lodging representation and Twin Lakes representation. Ducharme explained the panel’s choices included two lodging representatives and a candidate with community‑benefit and community‑center engagement experience.

Ducharme noted that Misty Curtin requested to step down as she expands other commitments, and that two prior members had left the county. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the three appointments; the vote was recorded as three ayes. Ducharme said another seat will be addressed in January when a current member’s term expires.
The tourism panel now adds the three approved members and will continue to refine membership as future vacancies occur.
