Wellington to start school‑zone speed camera enforcement August 11; vendor presentation outlines legal basis and rollout

Genoptic's Hassan Dejavaja summarized the statutory basis for municipal photo enforcement: “As most of you know by now, in July 2023, the law was passed authorizing municipalities the ability to install the speed photo enforcement systems in the school zone,” he said. Presenters said they would provide an overview of the program and answer council questions ahead of the planned start date.
