Delta County commissioners review administrator's goals, set budget timeline

Delta County Administrator Miss DeSalvo presented a set of proposed goals and performance objectives tied to fiscal year 2026 during the Board of Commissioners’ Committee of the Whole meeting on July 22, saying the goals will guide department‑head meetings and the administration’s decisions for the coming year. "My plan right now is to present it at the August 19 meeting," she said about the budget schedule.

The goals, as outlined by the administrator, include reducing paper use and increasing digital service delivery; maximizing revenue and fiscal efficiency (including reviewing fee schedules and coordinating grant work); and improving employee work environment and retention. DeSalvo described steps such as using existing software more fully — including the county’s Ease system for onboarding documents — promoting quarterly department‑head meetings, and exploring options to consolidate grant work among existing staff rather than adding a new grant‑specialist position in the coming fiscal year.
