Warren County Fiscal Court on Oct. 23 approved a five-year agreement with Insight Public Sector for a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system for the sheriff's office in an amount not to exceed $84,000 per year under the state price contract.

Sheriff Hightower described the contract as an upgrade to the county’s existing CAD system and highlighted new features that include texting capability, translation services and the ability for authorized users to view CAD information on a mobile phone.

“ This is gonna be, an an absolute phenomenal upgrade on this. So Yeah. Really looking forward to this. A lot more techno technological advances with this, and, it has some texting capabilities and also some translation capabilities, ” the sheriff said. County leaders said the vendor is on the state price contract and the work is intended to modernize dispatch operations.

The motion to approve the five-year Insight Public Sector agreement was made by Esquire Lasley and seconded by Esquire Lawrence; the court approved the contract on a unanimous roll call.
