Connor Scholes, representing Pullman High School Associated Student Body, reported at the Oct. 22 board meeting on fall activities and planned events.
Scholes said homecoming activities included hall decorating on Oct. 13, class themes for the dance and a well-attended homecoming dance. He said the football team went to overtime and lost by one point, and the ASB estimated roughly 500 tickets were sold for the dance.
Looking ahead, Scholes said ASB met with Moscow High School ASB to plan the “Clash of the Combine” charity basketball event: halftime student activities and a coin drive will raise money for Alternatives to Violence on the Palouse. The basketball games are scheduled for Dec. 12, with girls at 5:30 p.m. and boys at 7 p.m., and halftime activities will feature student spirit contests.
Scholes said ASB is seeking local sponsors for spirit packs (T-shirt, sunglasses, pom-poms and stickers) to unify the student section around a blue-versus-red theme. He also noted Oct. 22 was Unity Day and that the ASB equity committee hosted lunch bingo. Finally he said ASB will hold a trunk-or-treat/club night in the back parking lot on Oct. 30 to distribute candy and promote student clubs; Scholes said that event begins at 4:30 p.m.
Board members thanked Scholes for the update; no action was taken on the report.
