The commission opened and closed a required public hearing on the sale of a former county gravel pit (APN E-1387-12, parcel number 187390) and approved the sale at the appraised price of $17,000. The parcel had been appraised by Jason Bushnell and no competing bids were reported at the hearing.
Commissioners also approved the claims/warrants covering 09/09/2025 through 09/21/2025 and the minutes from the Sept. 8 meeting by voice vote.
Other approvals included a single-event permit and local consent for beer and wine service for an Oktoberfest festival at Iron Springs Resort (Oct. 2025); acceptance and execution of a Utah Outdoor Recreation Office OHV grant contract for OHV trail maintenance in the amount of $33,005.50; a one-year extension of an agreement with Dixie National Forest to complete concrete work at the Stonewall Building parking area; and two letters of support from the county for Parowan Cityapplications for Economic Development Administration funding and a GOEO Rural County Opportunity Grant to construct road and utility infrastructure near the Parowan City Airport.
The commission also approved a set of personnel items (four items reported by county HR/administration) including a corrections hire, a shift of an existing employee from full-time to part-time status, a promotion in Justice Court, and a seasonal conversion at the fairgrounds.
All approvals recorded in the public oral record were adopted by voice vote (recorded as "Aye" and "Motion carries" in the transcript). The transcript did not contain roll-call tallies for these items.
