Planning staff reported AmRise had met submittal requirements and recommended approval of the amendment. The planning department said it had contacted Colorado Parks and Wildlife for comment on Aug. 26 but had received no correspondence back. Commissioners discussed the remote location of the proposed quarry and noted that the current quarry is closer to homes (staff said 300–500 feet away) but has not generated complaints.
A motion to approve the amendment passed by roll‑call vote with all commissioners voting in favor.
