On a separate matter, the petitioner for a rezoning case seeking a 467.66‑acre data‑center campus in Franklin Township announced an intention to withdraw the petition. Attorney Joe Calderon, representing the petitioner, stated on the record that they intended to withdraw the proposal; the council’s legal staff said the public hearing would be postponed until the council’s Oct. 6 meeting pending documentation from the Metropolitan Development Commission.
The council also received a committee report (Proposal 276) directing the Office of Public Health and Safety to provide a report regarding appropriations from a round‑3 levitation grant program to the Annie E. Casey Foundation; the report was accepted in committee and no committee vote was required on the council floor.
