Commissioners approve routine docket of contracts, bids and renewals

The board unanimously approved the accounts payable docket at the start of the meeting. Commissioners then approved resolution R-14-CD-2025 to transfer a tax-sale certificate for a parcel on Lincoln Way West and College Street to the South Bend Redevelopment Commission; county staff said the parcel fits within the city's master plan and that the transfer is permissible under tax-sale statutes.
Infrastructure staff requested permission to advertise bids for the Alexander Satellite Garage site development and construction of a vehicle storage building on Alexander Drive; staff said site work and a salt barn have already been completed and the advertisement will seek bids with openings planned for Sept. 9. That request was approved unanimously.
The board approved a consulting contract with VS Engineering for right-of-way services related to Bridge No. 29 on Walnut Road over Potato Creek. Staff said the contract covers negotiations and recording for three parcels and is not-to-exceed $9,225.
The board also approved three tow-company contract renewals that extend abandoned-vehicle towing coverage across the county: renewals with Tony's Mobile Services (eastern county coverage), Citywide Towing (northwest) and Hamilton Towing (southwest). Sean Klein, APC director, said the renewals extend existing contracts that expire Aug. 9 and will take effect through 2028; commissioners approved each renewal unanimously.
Other routine items approved included the statement of work with River System for court and jail audiovisual upgrades and a Laredo agreement for consultants (v3 consultants), each approved by unanimous vote.
