Piper said the swim starts at Howard Amon Park and finishes at Columbia Point Marina Park, where a single transition area is located. Ironman staff described the swim as 1.2 miles from Howard Amon Park to Columbia Point Marina and a 56-mile bike course that uses George Washington Way, State Route 240 and Queensgate, with a run course that follows the Riverfront Trail to a turnaround near WSU Tri-Cities and the Port of Benton property.
