The Trousdale County Parks and Recreation Committee voted to proceed with repaving the walking track at Trey Park and to review bridge stability in the same area.
Cliff, a parks staff member, told the committee the walking track has widespread cracking and surface failures and reported an estimate of about $46,350 to repave the surface. Committee members said the path is heavily used by residents early in the morning and by local deputies who exercise there. Staff noted that the walking-track project was included in a recently submitted Blue Cross Blue Shield grant application but said the county should not delay if the grant is not awarded.
A motion to repave the track and to pursue funding and scheduling carried; the committee asked staff to submit the project for the September budget meeting and to move forward with bid and scheduling steps so work could proceed in the fall if feasible. Members discussed using ARPA funds if the grant is not awarded, and one member requested that staff obtain required engineering drawings and consulting support if needed before soliciting bids.
The committee also ordered a camera and lighting upgrades for the amphitheater and ongoing plant/landscape work at Trey Park as part of broader park maintenance efforts.
The repaving motion passed as recorded in the meeting transcript.
