Bradley County schedules household hazardous waste collection day for Nov. 8

Bradley County announced a household hazardous waste collection day on Nov. 8 during the Sept. 8 work session, county staff said.
The collection will accept materials from Bradley County residents and is intended for household — not commercial — waste. Examples listed by staff include oil-based paint, insecticides, automotive fluids and electronics; officials asked residents not to bring ammunition, radioactive material or hospital waste. The county is partnering with Clean Harbors for collection and is using the Justice Center site with support from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department and trustees who assist with operations.
Staff said the event is funded through landfill revenues and that the county and partner agencies (stormwater divisions and the cities) help support the program. In previous events, the county reported hundreds of vehicles served. Flyers with the event details were distributed at commissioners’ seats, and staff asked commissioners to share the date publicly.
