At the Sept. 2, 2025 meeting the Bexar County Commissioners Court approved multiple administrative and contracting items. Below are the actions recorded in open session.

- Donations for flood relief: The court approved acceptance of $2,985 in cash and gift cards collected by county offices (County Clerk, District Clerk, Tax Assessor-Collector) for the American Red Cross to support local flood relief efforts. Motion moved by Commissioner Pat Calvert and seconded by Commissioner Clay Flores; motion carried.
- Retirement contribution rate (TCDRS) for calendar year 2026: The court approved a required Texas County and District Retirement System (TCDRS) contribution rate of 13.82%, a rate county staff said would raise the plan's funded ratio to roughly 87%. Leo Caldera, county auditor, presented the staff recommendation. Motion to approve was moved by Commissioner Justin Rodriguez and seconded by Commissioner Clay Flores; motion carried.
- Mainframe hosting contract extension (Data Management Associates of Brevard Inc.): The court approved execution of amendments to continue mainframe hosting, production control and job scheduling services from Sept. 11, 2025 to March 10, 2027 in the amount of $1,643,214. County staff said the extension is needed to allow data migration from legacy systems and to support functions still running on the mainframe (elections, payroll, timekeeping). Motion moved by Commissioner Pat Calvert and seconded by Commissioner Justin Rodriguez; motion carried.
- Offer of judgment in Lopez v. Bexar County: The court approved payment of $170,000 as an offer of judgment in the federal case Andrew Lopez v. Bexar County; the federal judge ordered an agreed judgment to be filed by Sept. 10, 2025. Motion moved by Commissioner Pat Calvert and seconded by Commissioner Clay Flores; motion carried.
- Eminent-domain authority for Boerne Stage Road (see separate article): The court authorized staff to institute condemnation proceedings, if necessary, to acquire a 0.0362-acre tract needed for a roundabout and drainage improvements at Scenic Loop and Boerne Stage Road in Precinct 3. Motion moved by Commissioner Paul Moody and seconded by Commissioner Pat Calvert; motion carried.
- Voter-registration system acquisition: The court approved acquiring a local VR system and related hardware after a divided discussion and a failed motion to table. Motion moved by Commissioner Pat Calvert and seconded by Commissioner Clay Flores; motion carried.
