Appointments: County staff presented five rounds of recommended appointments. The board appointed Nathan Novotny as an alternate member to the Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board. Commissioners reappointed Christine Flattery, Terry Long, Anne Weems and Harriet Gaeth and appointed Julia Hines Williams to the Commission on Aging. The board appointed Oxana Parsons and Sarah Shields to the Calvert County Commission for Women, appointed James Carr to the Calvert County Marine Museum Board of Governors, and reappointed Michael Rooney to the Calvert County Environmental Commission. After the appointments staff noted several vacancies remain across boards and commissions and encouraged interested residents to apply via the county website.
Consent agenda: The board approved two consent items by voice vote: (1) Department of Parks and Recreation annual report for the Calvert County Youth Recreational Opportunities Fund (CCYRF) for 2025, and (2) Department of Public Safety recurring lease agreement for Stryker Lifepak cardiac monitors.
Each appointment motion carried by voice vote; the meeting record shows motions and seconds on each appointment and that the motions carried.
