On preschool planning, the superintendent said the district aims to implement a universal P4 program and has formed a committee with representation from each building. The goal is to have a concrete plan by January so the district can include P4 options in the 2026–27 budget work. The district scheduled a committee meeting for Thursday at 1 p.m.; board members were invited to serve as sounding boards for the planning process.
Board members noted that a stronger P4 program would help stabilize future kindergarten numbers and improve projection accuracy. No formal vote was required on planning; the board discussed timeline and committee membership.
Officials also reviewed upcoming calendar items: open houses across buildings starting the next day, homecoming week dates (Sept. 22–27) and audit preparation with auditors scheduled to visit the week of Sept. 15.
