Grandview Square resident urges quick installation of advanced warning flasher at Eden Avenue crosswalk

Greer said she submitted petitions and emails beginning in 2023 and that “it is now 1 month shy of 2 years that the request was made and no advanced warning system has been installed.” She described the users of the crosswalk as largely elderly residents — “between 75 and 85” — and said asking them to walk to a different light is unsafe given sight-lines and traffic turning movements. Greer said she would meet with state Representative Yuah Kim on Sept. 9 and invited council members to join a tour of the crosswalk and nearby curve.
City manager Neil (referred to as Manager Neil in the discussion) said he would speak with engineering staff (Andrew Cipione and Mr. Scipione were referenced) and provide the council and the resident a status update by Friday of that week.
