Board approves Amangani hotel remodel and Presidential Suite addition

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners approved Aug. 19 a development plan for the Amangani Hotel remodel and an associated spa expansion that includes a new presidential suite.
Hamilton Smith of Planning and Building Services described the two concurrent projects: a spa expansion (about 4,400 square feet of added floor area) and a 2,550-square-foot presidential suite addition. Smith said both elements fall within the entitlements of the lot and that the applications do not request any increase in building height above existing peaks; planning staff found the proposals comply with the scenic resources and natural-resources overlay standards applicable to the property.
Carl Lauder and other representatives for the applicant were present; no public comments were received. The board voted unanimously to approve the development plan based on staff findings.
