Commission approves county comments to Bridger-Teton National Forest on forest plan assessment

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners approved Aug. 19 a letter from the county to Chad Hudson, forest supervisor of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, submitting Teton County’s comments on the Forest Service’s draft forest plan assessment.
Chris Colligan, a public-works project manager, said staff updated the draft to incorporate two additions requested by the board the previous day: inclusion of the Munger Mountain conservation recreation lease and concerns raised about wild and scenic rivers inventory and protections. Colligan told commissioners the Forest Service next will work with cooperating agencies to review inventories and develop a “need for change” document; he said the schedule is uncertain given Forest Service staffing constraints but that cooperating-agency meetings were expected in the fall and winter.
Commissioner Carlman moved to approve the letter dated Aug. 24, 2025; the motion passed unanimously.
