County commits future easement to Hoback Junction Water and Sewer District for Wy. Water Development application

The Teton County Board of County Commissioners voted Aug. 19 to approve a letter of commitment allocating a future easement on county parcel 22-39-16-26-2-00-012 to the Hoback Junction Water and Sewer District to support the district’s application for construction funding from the Wyoming Water Development Commission.
Chris Peltz, the county’s water resources coordinator, told the board the district is well into design and plans to complete 50% design by the Sept. 1 application deadline to the Wyoming Water Development Commission. He said if construction funding is secured, bids would be expected in 2026 and, depending on bid results and river/high-water conditions, construction could occur in 2026.
Commissioner Carlin moved to approve the letter of commitment allocating a future easement for the Hoback Junction Water and Sewer District. The motion passed unanimously.
In discussion after the vote commissioners and staff described the action as using county property to support regional water infrastructure; staff said they coordinated the parcel selection with planning, public works and housing staff during the site review.
