Teton County approves $67,627 temporary easement for Wilson active-transportation work at Station 22

Teton County commissioners on Aug. 19 approved a temporary construction easement with Station 22 LLC to complete active-transportation improvements in downtown Wilson, including a payment of $67,627 to the landowner.
Heather Overholser, director of public works, told the board the downtown Wilson build grant project requires 11 easements from eight property owners; nine are temporary and two permanent. She said three easements had already been approved, five were on that morning’s agenda and three more would come to the board later. The easement approved at this meeting affects Station 22 (the gas station in downtown Wilson).
Commissioner Probst moved to approve the temporary construction easement with Station 22 LLC “including the payment of just compensation to the land owner in the amount of $67,627.” The motion passed unanimously.
Overholser told the board three outstanding easements remain under negotiation and staff will return to the commission if any issues arise.
The county’s action authorizes staff to record the easement and proceed with the portion of construction that requires the temporary use of the Station 22 parcel. No public comments were made during the item.
