Forney ISD's associate superintendent for operations gave trustees a brief construction and master-planning update that showed several projects nearing key stages.
Kim Worsak said Forney Learning Academy is ready for students, with playgrounds and landscaping complete. Work at Elementary No. 12 (Las Olmos) is underway, with fire-lane and visitor parking poured, sanitary sewer and main-water-line work in progress and auger piles installed. The district's new transportation facility has major dirt and detention work complete and grading nearly finished.
Worsak also showed updated renderings for the planned expansion at the district's golf and recreation complex, including additional bays, a widened entrance, a gym that doubles as a storm shelter and plans for a small on-site restaurant area. The Gail Wilson Way road expansion had utilities and concrete prep in progress. No board action was requested; trustees received the informational report.
