Douglas County commissioners reschedule Country Club Drive LID hearing after late notice

Douglas County commissioners on Aug. 12 voted to move a public hearing on the proposed Country Club Drive Local Improvement District (project CI2025-015) to a later land-use meeting after staff said the required 30-day public-notice period was not observed.
County planning staff said the notice for the hearing was published July 17 rather than July 12, which left fewer than the 30 days required by statute before the scheduled hearing. Staff requested the matter be rescheduled to a date after Aug. 17; the board voted to set the hearing for a later date and directed staff to republish the notice and restart the process.
The action was procedural and administrative: the resolution concerning the creation, organization and election question for the Douglas County Local Improvement District, Country Club Drive, Group 10 LID (project CI2025-015) was deferred rather than considered on its merits. Commissioners did not debate the substance of the potential LID at the Aug. 12 meeting.
The motion to reschedule was made from the dais and seconded. The board approved the rescheduling by voice vote, recorded as 3-0 in favor.
The board instructed staff to republish the hearing notice and to bring the item back at a subsequent land-use meeting once the statutory notice window is satisfied. No hearing on the LID was held on Aug. 12.
