Assistant City Administrator and CFO Patrick Brown presented five‑year budget projections and several financing scenarios during an Aug. 5 study session and the regular meeting. Brown said the city’s projected 2025 ending cash balance is about $38.3 million, with a fiscal‑policy reserve target of roughly $16 million (30 percent), leaving about $22 million in excess reserves under current projections. For 2026 he projected ending cash near $38.3 million and excess reserves near $25 million. Sales tax collections were reported 1.7 percent ahead of last year, with a $341,000 refund included in the prior year’s figures.
