Fremont County commissioners approve routine permits, proclamations and land-use actions

Fremont County commissioners on Aug. 26 approved a package of routine and substantive items including proclamations, land-use approvals and permits.
The board voted unanimously to approve the consent agenda and accepted the county clerk's monthly report. Commissioners also unanimously approved proclamations naming September 2025 Kinship Care Month and National Suicide Prevention Month in Fremont County.
On land-use and permitting matters the board approved Minor Subdivision MS24-005 (Helmick) to split a roughly 6.38-acre parcel in Canyon City into two lots with conditions addressing water service, drainage planning and fire protection. The board approved Temporary Use Permit TUP25-005 allowing a high-school mountain-bike race at the Royal Gorge Ranch & Resort with conditions on traffic, emergency notification and site cleanup; that motion passed 2-1 (Commissioners Bell and Grantham aye; Commissioner McFaul no). The board also approved a three-year license and one-year vehicle permit for Goldride LLC to provide behavioral-health transportation services and reappointed Brian Rupp to the Fremont County Board of Appeals (term through Aug. 1, 2028).
