Mayor Miller used the Oct. 8, 2025 Struthers caucus to announce community events, to thank local donors and to note administrative items. Council members later agreed to move into an executive session to discuss pending or imminent court action.
Among the items Mayor Miller listed: Top Hat Productions will present a teen edition of a program at Fairview Arts and Outreach Center on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m.; Maple Crest is holding its annual Fall Fun Fest on Saturday, Oct. 25, with trick-or-treating at 1:30 p.m.; Amvets Post 44 is hosting a chili cook-off Sunday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. Bruno Brothers Pizza will host a fall event on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The mayor also announced the selection of a city Christmas-shirt design by a local student and noted that order forms and limited quantities will be available through Nov. 3 and at the city’s holiday celebration on Dec. 5.
Mayor Miller thanked Amber Bonilla and Bombas for a donation distributed to the city’s senior-van riders; the donation was described as part of Bombas’s broader national giving program. The mayor also reminded the public that a downtown road closure would continue through Oct. 24 and that staff were coordinating with Aqua on related issues.
At the close of the caucus, the council indicated it would go into executive session to discuss pending or imminent court action; the council did not disclose details in open session.
