West Fargo schedules Growth Area Master Plan work session; introduces new senior planner

Planning staff announced Sept. 9 that the city will schedule a second work session with the Planning and Zoning Commission and the consultant team for the Growth Area Master Plan, likely before the Oct. 14 commission meeting, and introduced Steve Iverson as the new senior planner.
Aaron Nelson, a city planner, said the consultant team is preparing draft growth scenarios and staff will reach out to commission members to schedule an hour to 90-minute work session — tentatively the afternoon before the Oct. 14 meeting, around 3 to 3:30 p.m. "We're gonna be looking to schedule kind of the second work session with the Planning and Zoning Commission, as part of the growth area master plan," Nelson said.
Nelson also introduced Steve Iverson as the new senior planner, noting the position had been vacant for about 10 months since the prior senior planner departed. Iverson said he has worked in planning and the development community for more than a decade. "Good to be back in planning," Iverson said, and offered to answer questions.
No formal action was taken; the announcements were made as nonagenda items and staff will follow up with commissioners to confirm scheduling and next steps.
