The Monterey County Planning Commission on Aug. 13 approved a combined development permit for a single-family residence at 62 Marguerite in Carmel Valley, with conditions requiring the replacement of removed oak trees and a requirement that an accessory dwelling unit have no internal circulation with other structures.
Staff planner Haya Honoredo recommended the commission find the project qualifies for a Class 3 categorical exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act and approve construction of the new main residence, associated site improvements, and the removal of 13 coast live oak trees. Honoredo said the project sits inside a designated 2.6-acre building envelope created by the Tehama Phase 1 subdivision and that proposed exterior materials and colors are consistent with the Carmel Valley master plan.
