Finance staff presented a recap of the 2025 ResacaFest event, reporting an estimated attendance of about 7,000 and total allocated expenses of $102,595 covering security, insurance and amenities.
Staff said vendor and alcohol sales totaled approximately $2,001 and that the event included a state championship cook-off and a car show. Staff reported predominantly favorable attendee feedback and noted that the event was relocated on short notice and still performed well.
Commissioners thanked parks and events staff and volunteers for the quick turnaround and said they planned to keep reporting revenue and expense details for future events for transparency. The city manager noted an annual events budget of roughly $300,000 for the fiscal year and said sponsorships and revenue-sharing arrangements (for example, sponsorships for Hogwaddle) reduce net city cost in some years.
