The Berkley City Council on July 21 approved the consent agenda, which included multiple routine items: approval of minutes, a multi-year intergovernmental agreement with the City of Huntington Woods for lockup, animal control, range use and dispatch services, the purchase of a Polaris emergency utility task vehicle for $39,653.80, and the purchase of a 2025 Ford F-150 police responder pickup for $49,273.
City Clerk Victoria Mitchell read the consent items into the record. The intergovernmental agreement provides services to Huntington Woods at a fixed yearly fee of $6,500 for each full-time-equivalent position reflected in Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards records; the agreement term begins July 1, 2025 and continues through June 30, 2029, city staff said.
The vehicle purchases were authorized to come from the Departments' vehicle accounts and to use cooperative purchasing contracts (Sourcewell and State of Michigan cooperative purchasing agreements) listed in the agenda packet. Councilmember Hennen moved approval with support from Councilmember Baker; the clerk called the roll and the consent agenda passed unanimously.
