Dennis, the commission’s director, told commissioners the lease will automatically renew every six months with a 30‑day termination notice available to either party. Rent will remain $1,400 per month, and the tenant will be responsible for utilities and minor repairs, Dennis said.
Commissioners discussed the commission’s ownership of neighboring properties, noting the commission owns both 601 and 605 Main Street. Dennis said 601 is planned eventually to become part of a log center, but that is “down the road.” The commission currently has no specific plans for 605, he said.
A commissioner moved to approve the lease renewal, another commissioner seconded, and the commission approved the motion by voice vote; individual roll‑call votes were not recorded.
Jackie, a staff member who prepared the lease, confirmed she had reviewed the document and endorsed it.
The lease renewal was taken up as the sole item of new business and approved at the meeting, after which the commission proceeded to other agenda items.
