Board adopts resolution to accept donations from local groups and foundations

The Burnsville Public School District Board of Education adopted a resolution accepting multiple community donations to district programs and student-support initiatives.
Superintendent LaTonya Daniels reviewed recent donors and designated uses: the Minnesota Beef Council donated gift cards for the culinary arts program; Lisa Posorski provided items for the Blaze Nation Station (a free store at Burnsville High School); Open Circle Church and Cub Foods donated program supplies; and several organizations and foundations contributed to the Brain Power in a Backpack program. Named supporters included the Wells Fargo employee giving program, Furt’s Fruits (as presented), the Prior Lake–Savage Optimist Club, the Emmylou Tompkins Foundation, the Eagan Community Foundation and Valley Natural Foods.
Daniels recommended the board adopt a resolution to accept the donations “in accordance with school board policy and Minnesota statutes” and to permit use as designated by donors.
Director Anderson moved the resolution and Director Saxe seconded. The board approved the resolution by roll-call vote; each named director recorded “aye” during the roll call (Director Hulme, Director Mickelson, Director Ault, Chair Werb, Director Anderson, Director Saxe). The resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
Superintendent Daniels thanked community partners and listed the donations for the public record.
