Weber County Commission approves consent agenda, authorizes $1.19 million in warrants

The Weber County Commission approved its consent agenda on Oct. 7, authorizing four purchase orders and warrants numbered 106094–106149 and 493269–493360 totaling $1,191,993.40.

County finance director Ricky Hatch told the commission the week’s four purchase orders totaled $8,437.57; about $7,000 of that was for health department vaccines and roughly $1,000 for the library’s ice melt. Hatch reported the county issued 148 checks totaling about $1.2 million, with top expenditures including roughly $235,000 for IT (software maintenance and telecom), about $190,000 split between jail rooftop HVAC and utilities and purchases for the Golden Spike command center (two tractors), and $126,000 for the D Avenue connection/17th Street road construction paid from transportation tax dollars. Library spending of roughly $110,000 was for RFID gates, books and materials, and another $82,000 covered a chiller replacement and related software.

Hatch also listed top payees for the week: Cash Valley Electric ($237,000), Brigham Implement Company ($172,000), Ogden City ($148,000), Salmon Mechanical ($118,000) and Gunther’s/Gunter Mechanical (about $71,000). Commissioners asked for clarification about the Gunther/Gunter mechanical payment; staff said the county purchased a chiller and the vendor installed it.

The commission approved the consent items F‑1 through F‑7 by voice vote. The items included purchase orders, the warrants listed above, approval of minutes from the Sept. 30 meeting, a facility rental agreement with the Utah Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife Resources for regional advisory council meetings at the Weaver Center in 2026, and a right-of-way agreement with the Utah Department of Transportation related to the Burley Lane bridge replacement.

The commission did not record an individual roll-call vote for the consent motion; the chair declared the motion carried following a voice vote.
