Connetquot board honors 130 students who earned perfect exam scores

The Connetquot Central School District Board of Education recognized 130 students at its public meeting for earning perfect scores on Advanced Placement, New York State Regents and FLACS examinations.
Superintendent Dr. Joseph Sennimore introduced the ceremony and asked Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Christina Poppy and principals to join students on stage. Sennimore said the district was “humbled” by the achievement and noted that more than one-third of the students earned multiple perfect scores.
The board called students to the stage alphabetically for two group photo sessions and read names of students who achieved perfect scores across a wide range of exams, including AP Biology, AP U.S. History, AP Modern World History, AP Physics, FLACS A/B and various Regents exams. The board paused twice to accommodate photo opportunities and to mail certificates to students who were not present.
The recognition took place during the business portion of the meeting and included mention that some students are now freshmen in college representing the district. Board President Marisol Malin and district staff acknowledged the instructional, support and administrative staff who the district said contributed to the students’ success.
The district did not announce additional formal follow-up actions during the recognition portion of the meeting. The board moved on to other agenda items after the photo sessions.
