Trustees Duarte and Polk defended the firm’s prior work, noting the two prior retreats helped the board move from a fractured to a more cohesive state.
After the discussion the board voted on the extension; the motion failed. Following the vote, the board directed staff to develop a retreat planning process that will include a board survey to clarify goals, a timeline for scheduling the retreat (options discussed included after CSBA organizational meetings), and solicitation of multiple facilitator proposals — Nicole Anderson and Associates may be included among potential providers.
