MSD Wabash County board accepts donations, approves personnel changes and adds banking signers

The MSD Wabash County School Board on Aug. 26 accepted several small donations, approved routine personnel actions and authorized new bank signers for Southwood accounts.
Donations voted on included $100 from Draper Auto Sales for Northfield girls golf; $100 from Torn Insurance for Northfield girls golf; $100 from Anderson Truck Lines for Southwood athletics; $500 from Went LLP for Southwood athletics; $1,000 from Urbana Fire Department for Northfield girls golf; $100 from Wabash County Truck Wash for Northfield girls golf; $100 from Tarpcroft Investments LLC for Northfield girls golf; $100 from Hopper Brothers Inc. for Northfield girls golf; and $25 from Adam Cartwright for Northfield girls golf. The board approved the package of donations by voice vote.
The board also approved minutes from the Aug. 12 regular meeting and claims for payment. The business office reported nothing out of the ordinary in the claims presented.
On personnel matters the board approved hires and transfers including: Maren Norman as volunteer theater director at Southwood High School; Jim Bailu as substitute teacher (all schools); Holdre Ball as substitute teacher (elementary only); August Elliott as classroom instructor at Southwood Elementary, effective Sept. 2, 2025; DJ Marshall as junior-high coach at Southwood High School (coaching immediately); Angela Sisco as substitute teacher (all schools); Amanda Watson transferring from athletic secretary to treasurer/athletic secretary at Southwood High School effective Aug. 25, 2025; Corey McKay transferring from full-time para to a split part-time para and classroom instructor position effective Sept. 9, 2025; and retirement of Deb Korn, Northfield athletic secretary, effective Dec. 2025. The board approved the personnel slate by voice vote.
The board also approved a corporate authorization resolution to add Amanda Watson and Travis (last name not specified) as signers on Southwood bookkeeping accounts; the district said it seeks three authorized signees with two signatures required to sign checks.
Several staff and principals were recognized at the meeting: Amber Lewis, principal at Southwood Junior-Senior High School, introduced Jordan (teacher) as Southwood
