Cape Cod RTA recommends John Kennedy as new administrator; free-fare expansion continues

Robert Lawton reported to the MPO that the Cape Cod RTA board recommended John Kennedy as the new RTA administrator and that the board voted on the recommendation the prior week. “He'll be starting, I would say, in a week or two. We have to finalize a contract with him,” Lawton said. Lawton added that Kennedy previously operated as a private contractor managing fleet operations and will move into the administrative role.
Paul Hilton, speaking earlier in the meeting about RTA matters, said there was “nothing significant to report on the operational side” and that free‑fare programs continue to expand across the region.
MPO members had no further questions during the RTA report. MPO staff and RTA representatives said they will finalize contract details and provide updates to the board on implementation and any operational changes.
