CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Charlottesville City School Board on June 5 approved a series of administrative and funding items by voice vote, including federal Title grant applications, a supplemental state-funded FY26 budget amendment and a fund-balance allocation to start a stadium fiber project.
The board voted on multiple routine and action items in a string of voice votes. Motions to approve federal Title I, II, III and IV grant applications were made and approved in sequence. The board also: adopted the consent agenda (with item 9.7 pulled for separate consideration); approved Aug. 7, 2025, as the next regular meeting date; approved a $385,077 amendment to the FY26 budget reflecting additional state funding; approved policy updates presented in May with one facilities policy (KGRL) removed for later consideration; appointed student representatives for the 2025–26 school year; approved the biennial Division Literacy Plan (2025–27); and approved funding to move forward with a stadium fiber installation project, with a $100,000 allocation from fund balance to begin work.
